Disabling Automatic Software Updates

While aACE functions on both MAC and PCs exceedingly well, one area that can cause degradation of performance is pop up windows from the MAC OSX Finder, in particular, the automated 'Check for Updates' process which creates a dialog that requires user interaction to dismiss. These dialogs may remain on machines that are unattended indefinitely.

1. To avoid this issue, use the System Preferences>Software Update Control Panel.

2. Uncheck the Box "Check For Updates:" This will eliminate pop ups that routinely appear.

If the FM server machine runs other software which causes dialogs to pop up, it may be prudent, if at all possible, to determine if those dialogs can be managed similarly.
